Doubt
By: Ashley O’Hare
I had my concerns
That we weren’t meant to be.
We were like the sun and the moon-
Similar, but polar opposites
That should always keep a safe distance
To avoid destruction.
You told me I was wrong—
That you were better
That I should bit listen to the others.
I wish now that I had listened
To my own heart
And prevented myself from being torn apart.
Because you proved me right
In every way
And hid behind your lies
Like a child in a Halloween mask.
And I was just there
Too afraid to put you on blast
