Tomorrow – Poem

Tomorrow

By: Ashley O’Hare

I looked in the mirror yesterday

and introduced myself to a stranger.

A little broke, a little blue-

but she looked at the world like it was brand new.

The tear-stained cheeks I remember

have become dry with a pink flush.

She doesn’t spend as much time on the scale

and now cares if things make her feel well.

This new world is a little more scary

with so much more to see.

It seems wrong to sulk at home

and miss out on all of its beauty.

Outside, there is so much life;

so much vibrancy and freedom.

Endless possibilities

that cannot be taken from me.
