Stuck
By: Ashley O’Hare
One o’clock in the morning
communicating through a phone
the rain outside was pouring,
and I still felt so all alone.
You didn’t tell me your were blue,
or that you were seeing someone new.
You left me out in the night
without even a glimmer of light.
I guess you left long ago
and I lost our final bet.
It’s been nice talking to the shadow
of the friend I once met.
Those compliments were cute;
but I’m going to bed now and putting you on mute.
You can keep the memories of those days
that I was lost and stuck within your craze.
