To Be a Child Again
By Ashley O’Hare
When the sun bleeds through the window
And the heat bakes your skin,
Let it take you back in time
And be a child again.
Go, run out to the yard.
Don’t cage yourself in shoes—
Frolic through blades of grass
And let nature make you brand new.
Even if the clouds threaten rain,
Keep on with the show.
A little water never hurt anyone—
It just helped them grow.
