“Hear Me Out” Poem

Hear Me Out

By Ashley O’Hare

Hear me out for once;

I have had speeches

Berserkly buzzing and

Bumping around my brain

For ages.

Those rash decisions

Had packets of

Research behind them.

You didn’t see

The warning signs,

But they were there.

They existed then.

They exist now.

I never made it out

Of that storm.

Without a guide,

I lost my footing.

Without your confidence,

My best intentions misfired.

If you can see me now,

Please stick around.

I have a story to tell you,

If you’ll hear me out.
