“Math” Poem of the Day (2022)

Math

By Ashley O’Hare

I recently realized

why I enjoyed math in school.

Memorizing the formulas

was taxing work.

Showing my proofs

was long and tedious.

But I always knew that

there was a concrete answer.

There is no solid course of action

to find my passions.

Nobody can choose a profession

but me and my brain.

But the mathematical greats before me

have paved the way

to a step-by-step plan

to a grand solution.

After all,

a little head ache

is a small price to pay

to be shown the way.
