Movies to Watch on Netflix This Summer
This year, Netflix has some amazing movies to add to your viewing list for those stormy summer nights inside. Here are some of my movie recommendations:
- Life As We Know It
This movie is adorable and hilarious. This is a 2010 romantic comedy starring Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel. Without getting into any spoilers, the basic premise of the film is the two main characters being forced into a situation where they have to raise their godchild together. They struggle to get beyond their differences and hilarity ensues. It is cute, funny, and a perfect heartfelt film for the summer.
- Mean Girls
I think everybody knows about this classic, but it is still a great movie no matter how many times you have seen it.
- The Amazing Spider-Man
I may be biased because Andrew Garfield’s performance as Peter Parker is my favorite portrayal of the character, but I love this movie and was thrilled when I saw that Netflix added it. You can never go wrong with a Spider-Man movie when you are planning a movie night.
- Five Feet Apart
If you are looking for a good cry, I highly recommend Five Feet Apart. There is a beautiful love story and fantastic friendship storylines to get you attached to the characters before they rip your heart out.
- Dunkirk
If you are a history buff, I highly recommend Dunkirk. If you are a Harry Styles fan, I also recommend Dunkirk. This fascinating story is told with beautiful visuals and captivating acting performances.
- Sherlock Holmes
Robert Downey Jr’s Sherlock Holmes as well as the film’s sequel are currently available for streaming. This is a classic story brought to life by one of the best actors and it makes for a fun viewing experience.
- Big Daddy
Big Daddy is a nostalgic movie for me, so I like to watch it when I want to be reminded of my childhood. This is another cute and humorous movie perfect for summertime.
- Titanic
Another film that is great for a good cry is Titanic. This classic movie starring Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio is a good bet when you have the time for a three hour movie. It’ll scratch your itch for historical fiction, romance, and drama all in one feature film.
- Grown Ups
Do you need some help getting into the Summer mood? Watch Adam Sandler’s Grown Ups. This is a fun, family friendly movie sure to leave you with a smile on your face when the credits come rolling down the screen.
- To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before
To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before and its two sequels are always on Netflix for streaming, but it is the perfect series for summer. This sweet and wholesome series is great for watching with friends while you wait for some cookies to bake in the oven.
These were my top 10 Netflix movie recommendations for the summer! What movie streaming on Netflix do you love? Are you counting down the days until Tom Holland’s latest film Uncharted starts streaming on August 19 like I am? Let me know in the comments!
