My Netflix Summer 2022 Round-Up
Netflix is my primary streaming service, so it is the app I open when I am feeling bored or need something to play in the background. Here are the shows (and a couple of movies) that I have been watching this summer.
- Gilmore Girls
I am aware that I watch this show too much, but it brings me so much comfort that I am okay with it. The small town and Fall feel of the show is relaxing and perfect to play in the background while I am getting some work done.
- Grey’s Anatomy
Grey’s Anatomy has been on my watchlist for years now, so I finally decided to give it a try. The first few seasons were amazing and addicting. I loved the acting and the chemistry between the main group of interns. Despite the serious tone of the show, there was plenty of humor to lighten the mood. After those first seasons, my interest started to decline. I got about halfway through season 7 before I stopped watching. The episodes started to drag me down and I found myself not having the energy to watch it. I may start watching the show again eventually.
Supernatural was another show that I have kept on the back burner for years. I actually thoroughly enjoyed the episodes that I have watched thus far. I haven’t watched an episode in well over a month now, but that was completely by accident— I got distracted by Grey’s Anatomy.
- Emily in Paris
I watched season 1 when it first came out and was excited for the second season. Though the new season was fun to watch, season 1 is my favorite of the show thus far. Emily in Paris was a nice break from all of the stress in the world these past couple of years.
- God’s Favorite Idiot
I am only a couple of episodes into this show, but it is a fun watch that fills the chaotic void that The Office left when it was taken off of Netflix.
- Life As We Know It
This movie is incredibly adorable. I’m not much of a romantic comedy person, but this film quickly shot to the top of my list of favorite movies.
- Senior Year
I had high hopes for this movie because the concept sounded interesting enough for a summer film. It wasn’t a poorly made movie— it just was not my cup of tea.
Stranger Things is the next show I want to start by the end of the summer, no matter how late I am to the band wagon.
