True Love

True love

is not always romantic.

It hardly ever is.

We love our parents,

our siblings and friends,

our nieces and nephews–

they all claim a space

in our hearts.

I have been searching

for love

only to find

I have never been

without it.

Like the air we breathe

that keeps us alive,

love is all around us

every day

and every night.
