5 Books I Have Not Finished
I try not to put a book back on my shelf until I have read it in its entirety. However, sometimes I will read several books at once and one is forgotten. Here are five books I found on my bookshelf with bookmarks still part way through.
- American Sniper by Chris Kyle
My bookmark is currently sitting at page 144 of this autobiography. I remember reading this book a few years ago and enjoying it. I wanted to read the book before I watched the movie that was releasing in 2014. As a result I have not yet watched the movie— I am still determined to read the book first.
- Unbirthday by Liz Braswell
I have been looking for my favorite bookmark for months. I found it sitting at page 108 of Unbirthday. I picked up this Alice in Wonderland retelling at the beginning of this year at Target. I had read the Beauty and the Beast retelling last year and wanted to give this book a read since Alice in Wonderland is my favorite Disney movie. I must have put this on the shelf when I was cleaning up my room and forgotten about it.
- The Fever Code by James Dashner
I was a huge fan of the Maze Runner series when I was in middle school. When this prequel was released in 2016, I rushed to the store to buy a copy. I actually have a signed copy of the book. My bookmark is currently on page 111. I remember getting overwhelmed with school and not having the time or energy for free reading at the time. I will definitely be reading this book in its entirety by the end of this year. My curiosity to killing me.
- The Iliad by Homer
Another victim of my habit to read multiple books at once. This book was actually gifted to me as a Christmas present. I got to page 30 of this book before I forgot to integrate it into my daily schedule. The other books I had been reading at the time were simply easier to carry around with me. I never seemed to grow out of my Greek Mythology phase (thank you Rick Riordan) so I will definitely be finishing this book as well.
- Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson
I have Mistborn Book 1 (The Final Empire) as an ebook, so it says I am on page 218 out of 1331. I have made several attempts to complete this book over the years. Mistborn is outside of my reading genres of choice, so it was difficult for me to get into. Being the first of a series that is still releasing books, I can not see myself returning to the story.
