“Out Of Whack”
By Ashley O’Hare
Nobody prepares you
for going far.
We are taught
how to get by-
how to barely survive.
If you decide
you want to thrive,
you must abandon the hive.
Wanting more
is out of whack.
Movement forward
threatens the paved track.
When you make it to the moon,
set up camp.
You’ll have company soon.
I just need to
find my compass
before I meet you.
