5 Ways to Battle Self-Doubt
Self-Doubt is something we will all inevitably experience. It is impossible to be one hundred percent confident one hundred percent of the time. Unfortunately, when this doubt meanders into your life, it could cause you to miss out on fantastic opportunities. Here are 5 ways you can battle your self-doubt:
- Journal Your Feelings
Sometimes emotions can be overwhelming. There have been times where I feel stressed but do not know where the feeling is originating. Journaling my feelings has helped enormously. Allowing myself to put my deepest thoughts onto paper forces me to be honest with myself. If you have a hard time putting pen to paper, try keeping a video diary. Recording yourself speaking your mind works just as well.
- Track Your Accomplishments
Keep track of your accomplishments, no matter how trivial they seem in the moment. Did you drive a car for the first time? Keep a record of this accomplishment. If one day you feel nervous to get behind a wheel, you have a physical proof of yourself overcoming the same obstacle in the past. Knowing you are capable of facing and conquering difficult tasks helps with your confidence.
- Practice Relaxation Techniques
A racing heart only fuels self doubt. Whether you turn to meditation, prayer, reading, exercise, music, etc.— relax your body before making any decisions.

- Turn to Your Support System
Sometimes all you need is a sounding board. Other times, you need tough love. Turn to the people you trust in your life when you start doubting yourself. Hearing an outside perspective always seems to wake up my brain.
- Spend Time Outside
Staying cooped up in the house does more harm than good. Taking some time to step outside and inhale fresh air does wonders for the mind and body. Even if you can only crack a window, incorporate some nature into your day. I have found this to keep me grounded and level headed.

very good advice Ashley 🙂
