Following recent successes, Buster Moon is fighting to take his team to greater heights. After sneaking into an audition for a second chance at a grand opportunity, Moon and his cast catch the eye of Mr. Crystal. The media mogul is willing to give them them a chance at putting on a show of a lifetime if Buster Moon can fulfill his promise of getting a musical legend to join their production. The catch is this artist has been in isolation for years.
My Thoughts:
I am a firm believer that there is no age limit on movies. Though Sing 2 is appropriate and targeted to children, it is an enjoyable movie for all ages. The music selection is great, the voice actors are perfect for their roles, and the animation to bright and fun. This movie was a fantastic stress reliever. After watching the new Jeffrey Dahmer series that Netflix released, this movie was a great cleanser. There is a realistic plot with organic conflicts.
I actually watched the first Sing in theaters. I probably would have watched this one in theaters too if it had not slipped under my radar. At the time of this movie’s release, I was watching Spider-Man : No Way Home and not considering any other films in theaters.
I love that these films take the musical genre and keep it natural. The movie is centered around a musical they are creating, so it makes sense when the characters break into song.
I highly recommend this movie for anybody looking for a breath of fresh air. I would recommend watching Sing before Sing 2 so you can get to know the characters, but it is not necessary. You can still enjoy this movie as a stand alone.
