Five Best Desserts You Need to Try This Fall

Best Desserts to Try This Fall

Autumn is the perfect time of year to snuggle up on the couch with a good Halloween movie and a snack. Here are five dessert options to snack on the next time you’re in the mood for a good movie.

  • Slushie and Vanilla Ice Cream

Mixing a slushie with ice cream, ideally vanilla, is the my favorite dessert. I buy Slush Puppies from my local grocery store and mix it into my bowl of ice cream. They come in an assortment of flavors that all taste delicious with ice cream. You can also mix them in a blender if you prefer. (My favorite combination is vanilla ice cream with a blue raspberry slushie. If you are looking for a slushie flavor that will go with any ice cream, look for a cola flavor. It tastes just like a root beer float without the carbonation!)

  • Frozen Bananas and Peanut Butter

If you are looking to add more fruit into your desserts, try some frozen bananas. I like to have frozen bananas with peanut butter and occasionally dark chocolate. Personally I leave the bananas in slices, but you can also mix your ingredients into a blender for a more smooth, ice cream like texture.

  • Frosted Brownies

If you are in the mood for something warm, make some fresh brownies. You can either bake them from scratch or buy the box kit from the grocery store. For an extra treat, top your brownies with frosting and sprinkles.

  • Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Another way to incorporate more fruit into your dessert is to have chocolate covered strawberries. These are a classic and are easy to plate and share.

  • Holiday Print Sugar Cookies

The holiday season means Pillsbury’s Halloween and Christmas themed sugar cookies are back! For Fall, that means pumpkins and ghosts. These cookies are super simple to make since they are already pre-cut, and they are delicious.
