“Falling In Love”

Falling in love
is appropriately titled.
Years later the tickle
of a million butterflies returns
when someone mentions your name.
One day I know
I will run out of air
in the free fall.
When my heart clashes
with the stubborn ground,
I’ll be left with only
bittersweet memories.
For the time being
I will clutch onto this naive hope
that these feelings
have a deeper meaning.
