“Homesick”

It’s impossible to admit
that I am homesick
for a place free of bliss.
I spent days and months
in a dark slump,
awaiting the day I could leave that “dump.”
Now I’m so sorry
for all the wasted money.
I want to go back-
please let me pack.
I promise to pick up the slack.
