“Ranking The Pain”

Which hurts worse-
feeling too much?
or not feeling enough?
Maybe the numbness
was secretly giving me mercy.
My heart feels like it is at full capacity-
one more thought will send it into a frenzy.
All this nervous energy
fails to bring any favors to me.
My brain is not help;
it chooses now to dig through old memories.
Young me’s stupidity
is bringing the future
a real headache.
