While I was fighting
to keep my head above water,
you were out there thriving
without a single worry.
Maybe your phone disconnected.
Maybe you fell blind.
Or maybe you were always
the wolf carefully disguised.
Funny how you were always there
to watch me struggle,
but never available
to lend a hand.
Don’t worry–
I’m a professional
at living in denial.
We’re fine.
Everything is good.
Of course I trust you.
