“Winter” Poem of the Day (2023)

By Ashley O’Hare

A chill in the air

as snow sticks to your hair

in the middle of the night,

smiling at the twinkling lights.

I am not a fan of this weather,

but your joy raises the temperature.

If only we could stay like this

I wish our responsibilities

faded with our liabilities.

It’s life’s cruel mystery–

knowing every moment becomes our history.
