3 of the Best Songs from Each Taylor Swift Album

Best Songs From Each Taylor Swift Album

In honor of the Taylor Swift Eras tour this year, I thought it would be fun to go back and look at all of her previous albums and pick out my favorites. Midnights was the first album I ever listened to in its entirety, so it was fun to go through all of the songs that I have missed over the years and revisit the nostalgic albums from my childhood.

  • Taylor Swift
  1. Our Song
  2. Picture to Burn
  3. Should’ve Said No

This album is pure Country Taylor Swift. Our Song, Picture to Burn, and Should’ve Said No are all favorites of mine from middle school. I remember listening to these songs and thinking I understood what breakups felt like.

  • Fearless
  1. Love Story
  2. The Way I Loved You
  3. You Belong With Me

I love this album. It is so sweet and screams of first loves. You Belong With Me and Love Story were two of the first music videos I remember ever watching when I was growing up. I used to watch them on Yahoo music before YouTube was ever on my radar.

  • Speak Now
  1. Never Grow Up
  2. Haunted
  3. Enchanted

Never Grow Up is a song that is so painfully accurate in its depiction of growing out of childhood. It truly goes by in the blink of an eye. Enchanted is painfully beautiful. I had forgotten all about that song until it started going viral on TikTok.

  • Red
  1. All Too Well
  2. Red
  3. 22

Red and 22 are a couple of my favorite Taylor Swift songs because of how upbeat they are. 22 made me look forward to my 22nd birthday for years with unreasonably high expectations. Unfortunately I think I relate to All Too Well more now that I am actually in my 20s.

  • 1989
  1. How You Get the Girl
  2. This Love
  3. Shake it Off

How You Get the Girl was one of the first Taylor Swift songs I ever bought. This was before I started using Spotify and I was very picky about what songs I purchased. Though Shake it Off was overplayed when it first came out, I still love the positive message behind it.

  • Reputation
  1. Don’t Blame Me
  2. I Did Something Bad
  3. Getaway Car

Reputation as a whole is full of songs great for listening to at the gym. Don’t Blame Me stuck out to me the most. I wish it had been the main single on the album and received more recognition.

  • Lover
  1. Paper Rings
  2. Daylight
  3. Cruel Summer

Lover makes me want to fall in love. I love the imagery in Daylight and the concept of Paper Rings. This album truly cannot be praised enough. It is full of positivity and is perfect for all hopeless romantics.

  • Folklore
  1. Cardigan
  2. Invisible String
  3. My Tears Ricochet

Folklore is the album I listen to when I want to feel understood. Cardigan is the song I listen to the most.

  • Evermore
  1. Champagne Problems
  2. Tolerate It
  3. No Body, No Crime

Tolerate It is criminally underrated. No Body, No Crime shocked me upon my first listen. It seemed so far out of left field in contrast to the rest of the album, but now I cannot get enough of it. Taylor Swift is one of my favorite artists because of how well she tells stories in her music and these three songs are prime examples of that.

  • Midnights
  1. Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve
  2. Labyrinth
  3. The Great War

When I broke down the Midnights album last year, I had no idea there were other tracks on a 3am version. Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve is the song I related to the most. The Great War  was also on the 3am version and quickly became one of my favorites on the album. The song reminds me a lot of The Hunger Games.
