What You Need to Watch on Netflix – March 2023

What to Watch on Netflix – March 2023

Netflix seems to always be constantly changing the films and tv shows. Here are the top 10 best shows/movies to watch this month, March 2023.

  1. The Hunger Games Series

Netflix US has added the entire Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, Mockingjay Part 1, and Mockingjay Part 2)  series for the month of March 2023. If, like me, you are planning on watching the prequel A Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, this November, then this is the perfect opportunity to revisit the world of Panem.

Based on the popular YA book trilogy, the story follows 16 year old Katniss Everdeen as she volunteers for her sister to participate in The Hunger Games— a fight to the death in an arena against 23 other teenagers— and fights to survive in the dystopian world.

  1. Uncharted

Uncharted has been on Netflix for months now, but it is still on my watchlist. Based on the popular video game, Uncharted is centered around treasure hunter Sully as he enlists Nathan Drake in a journey to find a lost fortune.

  1. Outer Banks

February 23, 2023 brought season 3 of Outer Banks to Netflix. This series has been popular since its first season premiered in 2020. This series is about a group of teenagers in search of lost treasure.

I watched a few episodes of season one years ago, so I am looking forward to seeing the story play out.

  1. La La Land

Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone star in this romantic musical. This movie follows Sebastian and Mia as they fall in love while chasing their dreams

I have not seen this movie yet, but it has been on my watchlist for a while. It reminds me of the movie Whiplash with its theme of committing yourself to chasing an artistic dream.

  1. Where the Crawdads Sing

Based on the popular book, Where the Crawdads Sing is about a girl, Kya, as she finds herself as the main suspect of a murder case.

I have been seeing previews of this movie for months now and have been suffering with curiosity. I was so glad to see it pop up on Netflix since I did not get to see it in theaters. It’s always a good time for a mystery.

  1. Flushed Away

Flushed Away is an animated movie from 2006. This is a fun film about a rodent finding his way back to his home in London. This is a movie I only vaguely remember from my childhood.

  1. Home

Dreamworks’ Home is about an alien race that conquers planet Earth.

I was looking forward to this movie when it originally came out in 2015, but I never got around to watching it sooner. The music in this film is top notch and every preview makes this movie look like a lot of light-hearted fun we could use more of these days.

  1. Top Gun

After the success of 2022’s sequel, Top Gun: Maverick, I was excited to see the original back on Netflix. Both of these movies are action-packed and perfect for a good laugh.

Top Gun is follows pilot Pete Mitchell, “Maverick,” as he and his wingman are sent to Top Gun— a Naval Fighter Weapons School for the best of the best.

  1. RV

RV is a great family movie. It is about a family that goes on a vacation in an RV to reconnect and bond as a family. Chaos ensues as the family struggle to adjust to life on the road and time spent in close quarters.

  1. Easy A

Inspired by Nathaniel Hawthorne’s classic book, The Scarlet Letter, Easy A is about a high school girl, Olive, as she deals with the ramifications of rumors / lies.
